Back at School

11 January 2010

The first week back at school!  I decided (thanks to Lauren Chinn) to take a picture of something every day and post it!  I guess like photo journalism :)  I also wanted to play with Photoshop effects

Earl and I have matching Hurley sweatshirts!  It looks funny because Leslie is hiding behind us because she didn’t want to be in the picture.  I like this picture because it shows how much fun we are having being together and in community

We decided to go to LACMA at 12:30pm.  We took the bus on an adventure to look at art.  It was a lot of fun!  They had all different types of art including paintings, furniture and sculptures.  I especially had fun imitating the sculptures!

After a day of being a bit sick, Rebecca visited Hedrick and we had fun hanging out.  We decided to have dinner at her apartment where she cooked us pasta!  It was delicious.  I really enjoyed the company and our time together.  A good relaxing and fun time to catch up!

Rays of Light

Here’s a picture I took during my vacation in Chicago with my family.  God is so beautiful!

I saw Julie & Julia yesterday, which is about a woman with a blog.  At one point in the movie, she becomes really narcissistic and her husband gets angry.  So I was thinking, “Yeah, blogs are kind of like that.”

Anyways, I’m leaving for school in exactly 2 weeks.  I move September 15th.  I’m feeling a lot of things.

1.  I’m really excited to move in, decorate, see all of my friends, meet people and have a ton of fun!  I guess at home, its not as action packed activity filled, which is just different.  Today, I went to Target and saw a futon for our room!  But actually, I think it may be too small (since it folds out to be a twin?) and not very comfortable.  All the college stuff was exciting to look at.  (Yes, I do enjoy looking at different storage boxes)

2.  I’m sad that the time with my friends at home are limited.  My best friend Brittany just came back from summer school last week.  We’ve hung out a lot since then, but it feels like summer has just started!  In previous years, we had tons of fun, themed hang outs and spent hours just talking together.  Sadly, I only have a taste of that this summer.  I want more time with my friends!

3.  I’m also sad to leave my family again.  The first time (last year) leaving for school was so sad and heart breaking.  I cried.  But what makes me more sad is imagining my parents sad too.  I want to spend every moment with my family before I leave!  At the same time, I want to see my friends too…

So, I’m not sure how I’m going to spend the next two weeks, preparing myself for what’s to come.  But I do know that God has a lot in store for me.  I don’t feel ready at this point.  For the last couple weeks, I’ve been really lazy or really busy.   I’m kind of in a rut.  I’m praying that the two conferences that I’m going to, Leader’s Retreat and Momentum, will really prepare my heart and get me out of this slump.  That I am excited again.  In fact, that’s what I’m counting on.

There’s a lot of things that I want to do also!

  1. Draw and paint (I have a couple to do!)
  2. Print pictures for an album
  3. Sew
  4. Shop for school stuff and clothes
  5. Make bracelts

Mainly craft stuff.  I’m a crafty person.

Oh time, where have you gone?
